A Case for the Old Testament: Religious Pluralism, Conclusion

In this week’s class we are concluding our topic of Religious Pluralism and reviewing our study in the book of Genesis, chapters 37-38 by looking at an introduction to Joseph and Judah. We will then take a few weeks off before beginning a summer class that will continue our study in Christian Apologetics, making a case for the Old Testament, and Bible study that will look into the time period from Joseph to Moses. This is an important era in Christian history because it is a time period that is often attacked by skeptics and scoffers of our faith and it is important to know that we can answer questions, and provide evidence for the truth of the Biblical record.

Each week’s class includes prayer, an “apologetics” presentation, a review of last week’s Bible study, and a homework assignment. You can also make observations or ask questions in the comment section below.

Religious Pluralism, Conclusion

Prayer

1.  Write out your prayer cards and exchange them at the end of the class.

2.  Memory Verse:

“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.”

John 5:39-40 (NASB)

Religious Pluralism, some final thoughts

As we conclude this study I want to recommend a few people who are taking this topic head-on with spot on answers for cultural issues that Christians are faced with today, both inside and outside of the Church. Check out these short videos by Alisa Childers and J. Warner Wallace (who is being interview by Melissa Dougherty).

Bible Study

Click here to check or review answers for Genesis chapters 37-38 given in the presentation

Each week we will have Bible study following the presentation. There will be questions presented here on the weekend, and basic answers will be part of the next presentation or posted mid-week for your review, depending on the topic. This can also be used to make a leader’s guide for your own small group and future studies!

Note: This week is a final review only

Always remember to pray before you study and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and lead you into the truth found in God’s Word – pray for protection from the evil one who will try to discourage, distract and deceive us when we commit to growing closer to the LORD.

Review of Class Topic: Before getting into the “Final Review,” discuss today’s class presentation by summarizing what you learned, commenting or asking any questions

Final Review

This week we are reviewing the overall theme of the spring session before moving into a new class for the summer.

Directions: To the best of your ability, answer the following questions:

Christian Apologetics

In your own words…

1.  What is Religious Pluralism? What are some other titles it might go by?

2.  What are some warning signs that a person, group or Church is compromising with other beliefs? (Give a few examples)

3.  What are some things you can share that make Christianity true and unique from all other faiths, religions and philosophies?

The Bible’s “Big Picture”

4.  From the Old Testament: Name the five categories, and the 39 books as they are divided up in each category. (Extra Credit if you can do the same for the New Testament)

5.  What are the major events, in order, that have happened so far in the book of Genesis?

6.  Who are the major players, in order, from the book of Genesis?

7.  What are the major Covenants, in order, from the book of Genesis?

8.  Write out a favorite verse(s) that you are working on, or would like to work on memorizing.

Please continue to join us each week!

You will not find this material in the public school curriculum even though it is based on solid evidence and grounded in research. It is ironic that following the evidence to where it leads stops at the door of our public schools as they will not let a “Divine footprint” in!  Join us as we examine evidence for Christianity and learn how to become a thoughtful defender and ambassador of your faith.
