Before starting our new class next week we will take a look at the importance of having a solid Biblical foundation for a consistent Christian Worldview. A solid Christian foundation is built not only on belief in God and an afterlife with Him, but on the entirety of Scripture, especially the truths of Genesis that give reasons for the hope we have in Jesus. In 1 Peter 3:15, we are called to give an answer to all that ask about that hope, and to do it with gentleness and respect.
We need to know what we believe, and why we believe it. Jesus died for our sins, then defeated death and Satan by resurrecting from the grave. Do we really understand why? Can we share this good news with others and then answer the questions they may have? Being a Christian in the culture we live in today is becoming more and more difficult and many are walking away, mainly because they have not been taught to answer the tough questions, and have not taken the time to really study what the Bible is teaching. Recent research shows that for the first time since 1937 when polls were taken on this topic, Church membership (including Synagogues and Mosques) has fallen below the majority in the United States according to a March 29, 2021 article in the Washington Post citing a recent Gallup poll.
If we cannot answer basic questions about what we believe and why we believe it, then our witness for Jesus becomes mute. In today’s culture we cannot compromise when it comes to truth. The foundation of the Christian faith should be based on the knowledge of the Bible, both Old and New Testament. In our upcoming class we will focus on the importance of knowing the Bible’s big picture and God’s overarching plan from Genesis to Revelation, that points directly to the person of Jesus. The Bible’s reliability is undeniable, with evidence and consistency in its teachings above all others.
Check out Genesis Apologetics’ short film on the importance of having solid “Foundations:”
See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

Bible Study
Each week, starting next week, we will have Bible study following the presentation. There will be questions presented here on the weekend, and basic answers will be part of the next presentation and posted mid-week for your review. This can also be used to make a leader’s guide for your own small group and future studies!
Always remember to pray before you study and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and lead you into the truth found in God’s Word – pray for protection from the evil one who will try to discourage, distract and deceive us.
In preparation for our upcoming study, read the complete stories of Joseph, found in Genesis 37-50, and Moses, found in Exodus 1-20. Over the course of this class we will break these stories down by going deeper in the narratives, and by looking at some of the big questions asked about this time period and how it relates to our walk as Christians today.
Join us next week as we begin our summer class: A Case for the Old Testament, Joseph to Moses!

You will not find this material in the public school curriculum even though it is based on solid evidence and grounded in research. It is ironic that following the evidence to where it leads stops at the door of our public schools as they will not let a “Divine footprint” in! Join us as we examine evidence for Christianity and learn how to become a thoughtful defender and ambassador of your faith.
