A Case for the Bible, The Bible Fast Forward: Session Five, The Origin of the Gospel in Genesis

This week we are taking a time out from our survey of the Bible to look at an interview that will help us understand some of the important things we are reading and learning in Genesis that point to Jesus, the Messiah. As we focus on learning the Bible’s big picture through this study, it is important to understand the unifying theme of the entire Bible is all about Jesus: Who He is and what He would do! These events, people and/or objects in the Old Testament are often referred to as foreshadows, or pictures, that give us a glimpse of the bigger picture that would come to be fulfilled in the New Testament through the person of Jesus.

Creation Today’s ministry with Eric Hovind is one of my favorite weekly watches! Each week Eric interviews experts from various fields of study (that counter secular academia) to help us understand Biblical truths related to God’s creation and the many questions people ask about the book of Genesis. Go to creationtoday.org and check out the resources they have including books, articles videos and weekly interviews. If you like what Eric’s doing you can also become a ministry partner and get access to live presentations, longer interviews and deeper subject matter.

The following presentation is an interview Eric had with Bryan Osborne concerning the origin of the Gospel message. Bryan points out several places (out of many) where we get a picture or foreshadow of Jesus, starting as far back as Genesis chapter three. We continue to get more of these pictures through individuals and events as we move through the Old Testament, culminating in the person of Jesus.

Watch Eric Hovind’s interview of Bryan Osborne on the “Orgin of the Gospel”:

“And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel.”

Genesis 3:15 (NASB)

We are also recommending the video: “the Bible Fast Forward” by Greg Koukl which can be found at str.org. This week our in-person class is watching session five.

We will resume our “Survey of the Bible” and pick up next week with Genesis chapters 37-50, the account of Joseph’s life, as God’s unfolding Promise continues…

Join us next week as we continue our “Case for the Bible, The Bible Fast Forward!”

You will not find this material in the public school curriculum even though it is based on solid evidence and grounded in research. It is ironic that following the evidence to where it leads stops at the door of our public schools as they will not let a “Divine footprint” in!  Join us as we examine evidence for Christianity and learn how to become a thoughtful defender and ambassador of your faith.
