Since we will be doing a “Church-wide” study of the books of Genesis and Revelation in the next few weeks, I would like to repost a presentation we did earlier this year from “genesisapologetics.com” that highlights some of the biggest concerns from evolutionary theory in academia today, as compared to creation for the origin of life. The prominent view in secular academia today is that humans have evolved from lower life forms and specifically from “ape-like” creatures that are considered to be forerunners of homo-sapiens. The fossil record, in reality, does not give evidence to support that view, in fact we find just the opposite in support of the Biblical account of creation. And here I will make a bold statement: All of the fossils considered to be precursors to modern humans are in fact fully human or fully ape, created just as God has told us, on the sixth day of His creation.
Introduction to “Genesis Impact” from Genesis Apologetics:
“Secular museum docent (Reggie McGuire) presents his best case for evolution at the natural history museum, but little does he know that Christina (Hannah Bradley) has a few questions at the end of his talk that turn the tables… Christina’s questions dismantle evolution and her meek yet powerful presentation of the Bible’s account of origins awaken many to the truth. The Genesis Impact film is ideal for Christians who want to learn how to dismantle the leading “evidences” for evolution that are displayed in natural history museums and understand how to view secular museums through a Biblical perspective.”
“Millions of people visit natural history museums every year. These museums present origins and history through a single viewpoint: evolution over millions of years. But the Bible tells a different story: An Almighty Creator who recently spoke creation into existence, created animals after their kinds and Adam and Eve to rule over them. Do these museums really make better sense of the fossils from the past? Or, does the Bible’s account of Creation, the Fall, and the Flood fit the evidence better? This video evaluates the leading evidences that are presented in these museums from both a biblical and scientific perspective: the Human-Chimp 99% Myth, key ape-to-human icons like Ardipithecus ramidus, “Lucy” the Australopithecus, Homo habilis, Neanderthals, the Human Family “Tree,” Darwin’s Finches, the fossil record and transitional forms, Continental drift and Pangea, Dinosaurs, and deep time based on radiometric dating.”
Review and Reflection
Discuss the video presentation with your group, and go over any questions you might have on the topic. Use searchcreation.org to help answer other questions you might have. This website has thousands of articles referencing many experts in these various fields of science who will help show that the truth is out there when it comes to the facts of God’s creation, and the importance of humans being made in the image of God (versus the deception of evolutionary theory for the origin of life).
See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. Colossians 2:8

LET’S PRACTICE!
The books of Joshua – Judges – Ruth
Since we are taking a break from our regular class study, I encourage you to continue on in the history of the Nation of Israel from our last study in the book of Deuteronomy. Using the class format above, go through these books at your own pace, or with a partner or small group. At this point you might be through the book of Joshua, so I’m recommending continuing on with the books of Judges and Ruth.
The book of Joshua continues the history of a faithful generation under the leadership of Joshua, who has taken over for Moses, as they enter and begin the conquest of the Promised Land that God had given to Abraham centuries before. The book of Judges contrasts Joshua in the subsequent generations as they falter in their commitment to God with devastating consequences that play out through a series of Judges. One verse sums up this period in Israel’s history (Judges. 17:6; 21:25): “In those days there was no king; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” The book of Ruth brings a bright light in this dark period of the Judges, with a story of redemption and restoration that foreshadows Jesus.
Homework options:
1) Using the Bible study format continue on through the Old Testament history with the books of Joshua, Judges and Ruth – going at your own pace, but make daily reading the goal.
2) Get the “Daily Audio Bible” App and follow their daily readings in either a regular format, a chronological format or use their kids daily reading and study with your kids! Become part of their prayer community and interact as a prayer warrior for people around the world, or just be a silent partner with them, it’s free!
