It is important to have good resources to answer this question and others so many people have today about Christianity and the Bible. Doubts and questions about the Christian faith, and the Bible in particular, usually start at a young age as most statistics show. This is mainly due to the secularization of our public school system, TV programming, and media in general that continually bombards us with anti-Christian propaganda.
Watch the One-Minute Apologist interview Warren Smith on how we need to be discerning when following the media:
In our current “Case for Christianity” class called A Case for the Creator, we will be using resources from experts who have dedicated their lives to case-making for the Christian faith. Last week I hi-lighted Lee Strobel and this week I would like to do the same for J. Warner Wallace. We will be using both of their books as resources: “The Case for A Creator” and “God’s Crime Scene” respectively. I’ve heard people say things like, “Christian Apologetics is too hard to learn, I can’t possibly know everything about Christianity and the Bible to answer questions people ask.” Not true, Christian Apologetics is not about knowing everything, it is about finding and having the right resources and then building relationships with people who question or misunderstand Christianity.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 22:37-39:
“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Peter says in 1 Peter 3:13-16:
Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
J. Warner Wallace is a Christian Case-Maker and I like that title. Case-Making can help you sort through the available evidence and then make a determination based on the facts and not just feelings or popular opinions. He does an excellent job of this in his books God’s Crime Scene and Cold-Case Christianity.
J. Warner Wallace has been one of the most influential Christian Apologists in my life. His journey from atheism to Christianity is amazing. Using his skills as a cold-case detective his books, articles, podcasts and video presentations take us to the undeniable conclusion that God exists, that Jesus proved who he claimed to be and rose from the dead, and that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant and historically reliable Word of God.
Here’s a quick sample of Wallace’s work from the One Minute Apologist:
A little more about Wallace from his website, Cold Case Christianity:
“J. Warner Wallace is a cold-case homicide detective, popular national speaker and author. He continues to consult on cold-case investigations while serving as an adjunct professor of apologetics at Biola University and as a faculty member at Summit Ministries. J. Warner was a conscientious and vocal atheist until the age of thirty-five, when he took a serious and expansive look at the evidence for the Christian Worldview and determined that Christianity was demonstrably true. He eventually earned a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.”
“J. Warner’s professional investigative work has received national recognition; his cases have been featured more than any other detective on NBC’s Dateline, and his work has also appeared on CourtTV and Fox News. He also had a role in God’s Not Dead 2, making the case for the historicity of Jesus.”
“J. Warner’s book, Cold-Case Christianity, provides readers with ten principles of cold case investigations and utilizes these principles to examine the reliability of the Gospel eyewitness accounts. In God’s Crime Scene, he investigates eight pieces of evidence in the universe to make the case for God’s existence.”
Here’s a 14 minute clip of just one of the pieces he covers in his book:

You will not find this material in the public school curriculum even though it is based on solid evidence and grounded in research. It is ironic that following the evidence to where it leads stops at the door of our public schools as they will not let a “Divine footprint” in! Join us as we examine evidence for Christianity and learn how to become a thoughtful defender and ambassador of your faith.
