This coming week we are starting a new class called: A Case for Genesis. This class is a Christian Apologetics’ based study of the book of Genesis, that will have a focus on its historicity and reliability, foundational to the Christian faith. We will look at major questions asked of Christians today concerning this book, the application it has for our lives, and the trustworthiness of God, His character and His Word that transcends time.
Since this is a class you will find, along with a weekly presentation, discussion questions, “going deeper” references, and Bible study. This class can be done alone, or in a small group setting. Time requirement is one to two hours, depending on extra time set aside for study and group interaction.
To prepare for the class introduction, watch the following documentary “God of Wonders.” This will help give us the awesome reverence needed for God going forward as we officially begin our study next week. The video is an hour and twenty five minutes.

Bible Study
Each week we will have Bible study following the presentation. There will be questions presented here on the weekend, and basic answers will be posted mid-week for your review. You can also use it make a leader’s guide for your own future studies!
Always remember to pray before you study and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and lead you into the truth found in God’s Word – pray for protection from the evil one who will try to discourage, distract and deceive us when we commit to growing closer to the LORD.
Note: Bible study questions will be taken directly from the chapters, and answers should be found and cited from the Scripture text in order to be Biblically accurate (unless asked to summarize in your own words). Study Bibles, commentaries and your own thoughts can be used for Discussion or Going Deeper questions.
1. Review of Class Topic:
This week, watch the video and then, with your group, discuss the video by summarizing what you learned, commenting or asking any questions.
2. Prepare for Bible study next week by researching and sharing study Bibles that you have found helpful. If this is your first time in Bible study, we will go over the different versions and study Bibles during next week’s introductory presentation. If you have a study Bible get ahead by reading and getting familiar with your study Bible’s introduction, and how your study Bible can be used (this is an often overlooked part of a study Bible). Then read your study Bible’s introduction to the book of Genesis to get a background for context before we start.
Join us next week as we present an introduction to our new class “A Case for Genesis”

You will not find this material in the public school curriculum even though it is based on solid evidence and grounded in research. It is ironic that following the evidence to where it leads stops at the door of our public schools as they will not let a “Divine footprint” in! Join us as we examine evidence for Christianity and learn how to become a thoughtful defender and ambassador of your faith.
